Thomas Hodson Pace Jr., husband, father, brother, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away September 6, 2021, in West Jordan, Utah. Tom was born in Fort Ord, California, July 23, 1950, to Thomas Hodson Pace Sr. and Hedvika Marie (Bressan) Pace.

Tom grew up in the military and had a lifelong love for the service and his country. He was able to serve in the US Army from 1971-1973 and was an avid student of military history. He had a passion for medieval weaponry and armor.

He married his high school sweetheart, Laurie Irene Lemmons, January 25, 1969. They celebrated their 52nd wedding anniversary this year and have six children, 20 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.

Tom spent his entire work years as a computer programmer and systems analyst for various companies, except for his teenage years as a chicken wrangler and gas jockey. He was a hard worker who developed his computer skills over a 50-year career, starting with Western Electric, several trucking companies, and ending in the credit management industry. He graduated from Kearns High School in 1968 and went on to complete bachelor’s and master’s degrees in computer engineering.

As a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Tom had the opportunity to serve as Young Men’s president, Stake and Ward Clerk, and Primary teacher. He loved teaching Primary and spent many hours creating lessons for his classes.

Tom is survived by his wife, Laurie, his children: Karen (Ken) Hoover, Jennifer (Matthew) Witt, Aaron (Cherilea) Pace, Adam (Nina) Pace, Robert Pace, and Russell (Jacque) Pace. He is also survived by his sisters Theresa (Steve) Allen and Beverly (Gerald) Root, and his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents.
