Obituary

Richard Clyde Forsyth "Together Forever" Richard Clyde Forsyth passed away May 3, 2005 at the place he loved the most, home, surrounded by his children who loved and cherished him and into the arms of his beloved sweetheart, RoDene, who preceded him in death March 16, 2005. Born February 11, 1924 in Price, Utah, the ninth child of John Andrew and Elsie Clyde Forsyth. He graduated from Carbon High School where he was chosen as the "most preferred man" and has kept that prestigious title in his own family ever since! He then joined the Marine Corps and served his country for three years where he developed a fondness for M&M's! He loved his country and the flag! At BYU he met his eternal sweetheart, RoDene Marie Farrer and they were married September 17, 1946 in the Salt Lake Temple. Together they raised six children, served two missions: London, England and Temple Square, and also served for over 40 years in the Salt Lake and Jordan River Temples. Dad was employed with Utah Boy's Ranch for over 20 years where he served as the Executive Director. He worked with hundreds of boys teaching and loving them. Throughout his life dad received the blessings, callings and joys from his membership in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Integrity, hard work, honesty were his trademarks. A man of many talents, he enjoyed the outdoors, nature, fishing in Hanna, his woodwork shop, reading, and was thankful for the little things in life. We love you, Dad and Mom, and though our hearts are heavy we know we will be together forever. Survived by his children: Andy (Peggy), Ron (Julie), Nanette (Jon) Sorensen, Dixie (Marshall) Meier, Scott (Kelley) and Minnie (Kimber) Hall; 22 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; two sisters. Preceded in death by his wife, parents, five brothers, one sister and a grandson. Special thanks to Hearts for Hospice, especially, Jennie, for their loving service to dad. Funeral services will be held Friday, 12 noon at the Taylorsville Gardens 1st Ward, 1905 West 4200 South. A viewing will be held Thursday, 6-8 p.m. at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road and Friday at the church, 10:30-11:40 a.m. prior to services. Interment, Taylorsville Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Perpetual Education Fund or Utah Boy's Ranch.
