Obituary

Raymond Bennion Spencer, age 81, passed away October 5, 2002, in Salt Lake City. Born March 4, 1921, in Murray, UT, to Raymond George and Em-ma Alpha Pixton Spencer. Married Fern Arlene Carl-son July 10, 1946, she passed away Sept 24, 1997. He was a veteran of World War II serving in the Army Air Corps. He enjoyed fishing, gardening and agriculture especially Hampshire pigs. One of his major loves was owning collie dogs. He loved his family and will be remembered most for his sense of humor.Survived by his children, Michael (Cheryl), Ray A., Lynn (Shannon), Su-san (Bill) Yadeskie, Penny (Rick) Johnson, Scott (Bo), John; 22 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren; brother, Ashby Bill Spencer; and sheltie dog, "Baby." Family wishes to thank the staff at VA Nursing Center for their untiring care, love, and support for our dad. Services will be Thurs. 11 a.m. Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary, 4760 S. State St, where friends may call Wed. 6-8 p.m. and Thurs. 10-10:45 a.m. Interment, Taylorsville Cemetery.
