Obituary

Rafael Guerra Puerto was called home on June 18, 2016, to be reunited with the love of his life Angelica Puerto. Dad was always a hard-working man who worked several different jobs throughout his life to provide for his large family. We didn't grow up in luxury, but we never went without a roof over our head, clothing on our back and food on the table. Rafael and his always loving and supportive wife Angelica married in Mexico in 1961and later migrated to the United States in 1965 with 3 young children in tow at the time. Dad's most proudest achievement was gaining U.S. Citizenship in 1972.

Rafael is survived by children: Sylvia Barragan (Eduardo); Harv Puerto; Hazelle Bretzing; Maria Puerto, Fred Puerto, Raphael Puerto, Jr.; and Kathy Puerto. Grand-children: Angelica Lujan (Eddie); Raquel Riddle (Don); Randie Waterlynn; Alyssia Berriel;Yecenia McIntyre; Cynthia Lopez; Chandi Puerto; Austin Puerto; Dino Jaramillo; Marqus James; and Mario Puerto. Several great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by wife Angelica C. Puerto; mother Isaac Guerra, father Guadalupe Puerto, 3 brothers and one sister; and great grandson Elijah Hernandez

Prayer services will take place at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Magna on Wednesday, June 22, 2016 at 10 am. Graveside services immediately following at Taylorsville Cemetary and will be laid to rest next to his wife Angelica C. Puerto and great grandson Elijah Hernandez.

I miss you already Papi and the unending love and wisdom that you always provided. I will never be the same after losing you and Mami 3 1/2 months apart.
