Obituary

Our dad passed away on Saturday, September 13, 2014. He is now free to breathe without being tethered to his oxygen.

Dad was born October 9, 1929 in Oakland, California to Reed Norman Smith and Geneva Day.

He married is sweetheart, Gloria, on Valentine's Day in 1951; Mom passed away on August 13, 2003.

Dad proudly served in the National Guard during the Korean War. He then went to school to learn the trade of a tin-smith and worked at Brewster Sheet Metal until his early retirement twenty-seven years ago due to COPD. He was so proud of the work he did on the many buildings, gas stations, and special projects in his career.

He is survived by his daughters, Pam (Bill) Sperry, Kathy (Chris) Jackson, and Becky (Doug) Tuttle; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. He is also preceded in death by his parents.

Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, September 17, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. in the Taylorsville Memorial Park Cemetery, 4575 South Redwood Road (1700 West).
