Leon Melvin "Lonnie" Mickelsen left this world peacefully on July 24, 2014 and is in no more pain at the age of seventy after a courageous battle with cancer.

He was born January 9, 1944 in Salt Lake City, Utah.

He is a U.S. Army Veteran.

He is survived by his wife of forty-six years, Charlotte; their children: sons, Travis Mickelsen (Teddie) and Cody (Diane) Mickelsen; and daughters, Lisa Mickelsen, Kimberly Mickelsen (Daniel), and Crystal (Cameron) Shawcroft; children from a previous marriage: sons, Leslie (Janine) Mickelsen and Jamie Mickelsen; and daughter, Holly Jackson. He is also survived by his mother, Donna Fausett; brothers, Tommy, Robin, and Randy; sisters, Gayle, Judy, Sandy, and Bambi; twenty-one grandkids; and eighteen great-grandkids. He is preceded in death by dad, John Fausett; his brothers Duane and Larry Mickelsen; granddaughter, Amber; and father, Frank Mickelsen.

A viewing will be held on Tuesday, July 29, 2014 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. in the Granger Twenty-Fifth Ward Building, 2101 West 3100 South, West Valley City, Utah.
There will also be a viewing held on Wednesday, July 30, 2014 from 10:00-11:00 a.m. prior to a graveside service at 11:30 a.m. in the Taylorsville Memorial Park Cemetery, 4600 South Redwood Road (1700 West), Taylorsville, Utah.
