Lane Sydney Matthews 1934 ~ 2004 Our beloved father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother and friend passed away peacefully surrounded by his family February 5, 2004 of natural causes. Lane was born on August 22, 1934 to Sydney Lyman and Velma Allred Matthews. He has reunited with his mother, father, sisters Joan Matthews and Marjorie Bement. He was a musician in the Matthews Variety Combo, married to Maggi Eldridge in 1955, honorably discharged after serving in the Army during the Korean War and retired from the Federal Government in 1994. He is survived by his children: Mike (Mary) Matthews, Lorri (Dave) Julius, Casey (Mickie) Matthews, Kip (Faithann) Matthews, Mindy (Korey) Warren, Heather (Wayne) Crabtree; brother Ron (Rita) Matthews; sister Sheila (Douglas) Gifford; 18 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Lane dearly loved all his family and friends and will be greatly missed. The family will conduct a graveside service Tuesday, February 10, 2004 at 1 p.m. at Taylorsville City Cemetery, 4575 South Redwood Rd.
