Obituary

Emily Ann Mitchell was born July 22, 1970, in the hospital at Fort Sam Houston, Bexar County, Texas. She was the first child of John and Bonnie Mitchell. She grew up in Sandy, Utah, graduated from Hillcrest High School, and started her career as a Nanny in Pennsylvania, New York and Michigan. Upon returning to Utah she worked for Cinemark Theaters, the Elevator Company and most recently as an Administrative Assistant in Medical Billing for the University of Utah Hospitals and Clinics.
Emily was very organized and a conscientious and enthusiastic person. She enjoyed spending time with her nieces and nephews. She enjoyed and participated in martial arts for years, achieved the rank of black sash. She especially enjoyed the years she spent teaching martial arts to children. She had an enthusiasm for life, was particular in what she did and how she went about it.
Emily continued to work and engage in the activities she enjoyed until she became ill with Leukemia February 2017, dying August 6, 2018.
Emily is survived by her parents, John and Bonnie Mitchell; her sister Kira Hansen (Matt); brothers Kenyon Mitchell (Misti) and Sloan Mitchell (Amy); along with ten nieces and nephews. She was dearly loved and will be deeply missed by her friends and family.
