Obituary

Dale Leslie Edgmand, 73, loving husband, father, and patriot, returned home to his Heavenly Father on Aug 26. He passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, in Salt Lake City, due to complications following surgery.
Dale was born Nov 1, 1944, in Denver CO to Leslie and Mildred Edgmand of Coquille, OR, where he developed a life-long passion for nature, wildlife, and the ocean. Dale was a quiet man but determined. He served on a building mission for the LDS Church in Salt Lake City, UT. While serving a proselyting mission in GA, Dale was called to serve a very different mission for the U.S. Army in Vietnam. Dale was a decorated soldier having earned a Bronze Star for valor and a Purple Heart for wounds sustained in combat.
Soon after, Dale returned to UT, where he met and married his sweetheart, Nina Morrill, on Aug 25, 1972, in the Salt Lake Temple. They were blessed with three daughters, who became the light in Dale's eyes. His life was dedicated to family. He was a patient father and devoted husband; he never passed up an opportunity to express his love or gratitude. His determination was evident in everything he did. Dale worked at the LDS Distribution Center for 32-years. He volunteered in the Disabled American Veterans Honor Guard, providing military honors for hundreds of veterans in the Salt Lake Valley. Dale and Nina served a couple's mission for the LDS Employment offices, and Dale began as a Temple ordinance worker just before his passing. No matter the circumstance, Dale made friends into family. He loved telling stories, jokes, and making new friends. Dale will be dearly missed by all that knew him.
Dale is survived by his sweetheart of 46 years, Nina, his daughters, Melanie Kae and Marissa (Dusty) Kenner. He is preceded in death by his daughter, Monica Lyn, his parents, Leslie and Mildred Edgmand, and sister Janet Sue Edgmand Patrick. Funeral services will be held Fri. Aug 31 at 11am, at the Harvestland Ward, (3120 W 4700 S). Viewings will be held at the same location Aug 30, from 6-8pm, and again Fri. 9:30-10:30am. Internment, Taylorsville City Cemetery.
