Obituary

Angela Rosa Muoz our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend passed away Monday, June 18, in West Jordan, Utah, following a brief illness. She was 84.

Angela leaves behind a legacy of love and service and an unwavering commitment to her family and her faith. Her life was defined by steadiness and dependability. She was someone you could always count on.

Born August 24, 1933, in Palmira, Valle del Cauca, Colombia, to Jose and Matilde Bedoya. She was the oldest of 10 siblings and remained a guiding example to her younger brothers and sisters throughout her life.

A good student, Angela developed a sharp mind for figures that would serve her well throughout her life. As a teenager, she became acquainted with Jose Libardo Muoz, the man who would later become her husband and lifelong companion. Angela and Libardo married on July 20, 1953, in Palmira, Colombia. They were later sealed for time and eternity in the Provo Utah Temple. She is survived by her husband, Jose Libardo, and their seven children Victor Manuel (Sonia), Marta Lucia Pacheco (Omar), Richard (Gladys), Luz Angela Fonseca (Jose), Jesus Alfonso (Nancy), Josefina Swensen (Jason), and Clara Ines Melendez. Proceeded in death by their first child, Maria Elena.

Angela was a dedicated grandmother to 18 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren. Nothing made her eyes light up like a visit from a grandchild or a phone call from a distant relative. Angela was a disciple of Jesus Christ. In 1969, she accepted the restored gospel and was baptized a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The remainder of her life was dedicated to living the commandments and being an example of faith and love to her family and many friends. Her loved ones will always remember her pretty face, her love for flowers and crafting, and her infectious sense of humor. She could not tell a joke without breaking out in laughter before ever arriving at the punch line. She faced Alzheimer's Disease in the final years of her life with a quiet dignity that continues to inspire us all.

A viewing will be held on Wednesday, June 20, from 6:00 7:30 pm. at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 S. Redwood Rd. in Taylorsville. A funeral will be held in Angela's honor on Thursday, June 21, at 11 am at the LDS church, 1945 West 9000 South in West Jordan. Interment at the Taylorsville City Cemetery.
