Obituary
Alfredo J. Uribe 1937 ~ 2009 On September 13, 2009, the sky was given a bright new shining star. Our Rock, Alfredo J. Uribe, is now in a better place. Born July 25, 1937 in Wells, NV to Marcelino and Augustina Uribe. He moved to Ogden, UT in 1940, attended St. Joseph's and graduated from Ogden High in 1955. He also attended Weber State and served in the USAF. He then went to work for the railroad for over 40 years. Alfred married his best friend, Victoria Herrera, on July 23, 1960. They spent 49 beautiful years together and had two children, Mark Uribe and Nannette Oviatt. He is survived by his wife and children, his grandchildren, Serena and Devin Oviatt, sisters Esther Satter-field and Ana Uribe, and countless nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, his brother, and two grandchildren. Because of him, this world and our lives were full of laughter and joy. We will miss him forever, not a day will go by without a thought of him. Rest in peace, until we meet again, our Viejo, Dad, Grampy, brother and friend. We love you. A memorial mass is being held in his honor at St. Francis Xavier, 4501 W. 5215 S., Kearns, UT at 1:30 p.m., Friday, September 18, 2009. His ashes will be laid to rest in a private family ceremony at Taylorsville Cemetery.
