Obituary

Napoleon Segundo Sanchez-Guizada passed away on Friday, August 27th, 2021 in a tragic motorcycle accident in West Valley City, Utah.
He was born on March 27, 1970 in San Martin, Lima, Peru to Antero Miguel Sanchez Montalvan and Juana Alicia Guizada Sanchez. Napoleon grew up in Peru where he attended and graduated from José Granda High school. He would go on to serve a two year mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Arequipa, Peru. Napoleon was very fond of his time serving and would often mention that he wished that he could have been a missionary for the rest of his life.
He came to the United States of America in 1994 to be reunited with family. He met his wife Melanie Ann Baker in 1997 and married her in the Idaho Falls Temple in Idaho Falls, Idaho on February 13th 1998.
Napoleon left behind a carpet laying business which he worked on and developed throughout the span of nearly 22 years. By many who knew him, he would be referred to as the hardest worker they knew. Even after previous motorcycle accidents, Napoleon would continue to work in grueling conditions even if he was in pain. Napoleon enjoyed riding motorcycles. He worked on them and was a very skilled driver. He shared his passions with a group of loyal friends who rode together often in Salt Lake City, Utah. He died doing what he loved most.
Napoleon is survived by his wife, Melanie Sanchez of West Valley City, UT; sons, David Sanchez and Zachary Sanchez of West Valley City, UT; father, Antero Miguel Sanchez Montalvan; and siblings, Mabel Sanchez of Washington Terrace, Johanna (Dan) Loveridge of West Jordan, UT, Harold Sanchez of Washington Terrace, UT, Antero (Michelle) Sanchez of Clearfield, UT, Evelyn (Jonathan) Muir of West Jordan, UT, and Reynold Sanchez of Mesquite, NV.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Juana Alicia Guizada-Sanchez and nephew Joshua Allen Nicholson Sanchez.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, September 3, 2021 at the Taylorsville 12 Ward, 4505 S Brians Way, West Valley City, UT 84119 under the direction of Hawker Funeral Home, 132 S Shilling Ave, Blackfoot, ID 83221. Family will meet with friends from 9:30-10:45 a.m. prior to the service at the church.
It is evident from the outpouring of love and support to the Sanchez family, that Napoleon was a light to everybody that he met. He will be dearly missed by a multitude of people within his community.
