John "Jack" L.Ergle 1929 ~ 2003 John Loflin Ergle peacefully passed away on Monday, July 14, 2003.He was born Dec. 4, 1929 in Spartanburg, South Carolina. He married E. Ann Petree June 28, 1957 in Bartlesville, OK. Jack graduated in 1956 from Georgia Tech in Atlanta, GA, earning a Masters degree in Chemical Engineering. Jack served in the U.S. Navy from 1951-1954 with an honorable discharge. In 1959-1989 he worked for Hercules in Magna, UT as a Development Engineer. Jack enjoyed the sciences, mathematics, reading, learning and found humor in the ironies of life. He was a good father and husband who loved and provided for his family faithfully. He placed great emphasis on the value of being educated, inspiring his children to never stop learning and to always believe in themselves. Preceded in death by his father, David Loflin Ergle; and mother, Evelyn Gertrude Christman. Survived by his wife, E. Ann Petree Ergle; sibling, William (Bill) Ergle; sister-in-law, Joy Ergle; daughter Evelyn (Evie) A. Ergle Wilson; son, John D. Ergle; son-in-law, Joel S. Wilson; daughter-in-law, Lorri Lake Ergle; and seven grandchildren, Ambrea D. Wilson, Jordan D. Wilson, Shaleah A. Wilson, Kayla M. Wilson, Autumn K. Wilson, Ariannah A. Wilson, and Jacob J. Ergle. A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, July 26, 2003, 1 p.m., Unitarian Church, 6th So. 1300 E., Salt Lake City, UT; friends and family are welcome.
