Obituary

It is with great sadness that we share the unexpected passing of Alexandra ‘Alex”, who left us far too soon. This tragic loss has left our family heartbroken and devastated.

Alex was born to Cammie Romero and George Benitez, October 13, 1991, in West Valley City, and died at the age of 33, May 3, 2025. She attended St. Francis Xavier school during her elementary years. On May 18, 2010, she graduated Independence High School.

Anyone who knew Alex, knew what a wonderful person she was. How her smile lit up a room, her laugh echoed, and how much she loved her family. Alex left so many beautiful, loving memories that will never be forgotten.

When she was young she loved to travel with her grandparents from New York City, to California, to Minnesota, to Madeline Island where she swam in Lake Superior. She was called a “Water Baby” because she never wanted to get out of the water once she was in it.

She enjoyed listening to her music with ear buds, taking long walks with her grandparents, her sister, her friend, or by herself. She also enjoyed hanging out with her brothers, sister, nephews and niece, going to soccer games and bike riding.

Alex will be lovingly remembered by her mother, Cammie, her grandparents, Priscilla and Tom Bleifuss, her brothers, Julian (Chalsey – Alex’s “GF”), Antonio, sister, Izzabella, nephews, Junior and Elias, niece, Alizayah.

Funeral mass will be celebrated on Monday May 12, 2025 at 1:00 PM at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, 4501 West 5215 South, Kearns, Utah. Interment to follow Taylorsville City Cemetery, 4567 South Redwood Road, Taylorsville.
