Jill Kathryn Andersen
Born January 6, 1962
Died December 6th, 2024, after a long, hard-fought battle with heart disease.
Jill was the proud mother of Shawn Michael Andersen (Stacy), Christopher Ryan Andersen (Amy), and Chad Allen Andersen (Lori), and she had 10 grandchildren. Presley, Liam, Addyson, Brooklyn, Carter Jeffrey Carling, Jackson Dee Carling, Hunter Ray, Ryker Bradley, Tucker Lake, Penny Raegan. Her sons and grandchildren were among Jill's most cherished accomplishments.
Jill worked at First Interstate Bank for over 20 years in various different positions; her 10-key skills were arguably unmatched. Jill was a skilled pianist who truly loved creating and listening to music. You could always count on finding a Discman and a stack of CDs next to her, as she found no reason to get rid of her perfectly good music collection.
Jill loved crafting and making holiday decorations, and it was a sure thing that you would be eating goldenrod eggs with toast on any given holiday morning. Jill found joy in researching her family history and documenting her family genealogy. She felt it was important to remember the moments that had passed her by, so she made sure to create scrapbooks of her and her children's accomplishments and photos, ensuring she always had something to bring those memories back to her.
Jill was a dedicated grandmother who always made room for her grandkids to have sleepovers in her home. You could count on her to make an event out of it, with home-cooked pizza made with her grandkids' hands, small pools filled with all the squirt guns she could find, followed by a floor bed, popcorn, and movies to finish off the night. The memories that were made will forever be cherished.
Jill was the second child born in her family and had four siblings. She is preceded in death by her Grandparents Clayburn & Henrietta Andersen , Graydon (Jack )Melton & Ruth Palmer, parents Kenneth L. Andersen and Gayle Kay Andersen, as well as her sister, Sharen K. Andersen.
Jill was a Member of The Church of Jesus Christ Of Latter-Day Saints and received her temple endowment on 3/14/1998.
The family would like to thank the nurses and caregivers from Quality Home Health and Hospice for their assistance in caring for Jill since her return home in September.
We will be celebrating Jill's life on Friday, December 13th, at the Jenkins-Soffe Funeral Home, located at 1007 W South Jordan Parkway, South Jordan, Utah 84095. Family and friends are invited to attend a viewing in her honor at 12 PM, followed by a graveside service and grave dedication at the Taylorsville Cemetery.
