Obituary

Our dear mother Shirley Diane (Slade) Pendleton passed away on July 15, 2022 at the age of 74. Sadly she left us after a painful and brave battle with breast cancer. Shirley was born on December 12, 1947 in Fort Collins, Colorado, to her biological parents Emma and Arthur (Shorty) Dorsey. As they fell upon difficult times, Shirley and her brother Jim, were placed with good foster parents, Dick and Gynith Nauta. The Nautas wanted to adopt them, but the lord had different plans. Shirley and her brother were adopted by Ralph and Evelyn (Brady) Slade in the summer of 1953, where she became a farm girl in Redmesa, Colorado.

When she was 15, Shirley and her family moved to Taylorsville, Utah, where she met her future husband. Mark and Shirley were married in the Salt Lake Temple on March 18, 1968. Shirley always wanted a large loving family and lucky for her, Mark did too!

Her children include Camille (Danny) Slaughter, Jenifer (Ryan) Perry, Wendi (Allen) Kraus, Penny (Dan) Kempinger, Marcie (Celina) Pendleton, Anthony (Brooke) Pendleton, the only son, Amy Pendleton and Anne (Ben) Hatfield.

Shirley was preceded in death by her Parents Ralph and Evelyn Slade, her mother and father-in-law, Edith and Murlin Pendleton, her daughter Amy and three grandchildren, Devan Kempinger, Diane Hatfield, and Daphne Pendleton. She left a legacy of many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
