Marian Bangerter Lindsay, 94, died December 18, 2022, of congestive heart failure. She was in her home in South Jordan, Utah, where she was surrounded by her family.

Marian lived an abundant life. She was born December 13, 1928, in Granger, Utah, to William Henry and Isabelle Bawden Bangerter as the eighth of eleven children.

Marian graduated from Cyprus High School in 1947 where she was elected class secretary three years in a row. She attended Brigham Young University.

On November 17, 1949, Marian married Richard Powell Lindsay in the Salt Lake Temple.

The two of them cherished and served each other in life for more than 60 years. They established a home filled with faith and love that continues to bless three generations of their large family.

Marian went about doing good for others everywhere she lived, particularly in Taylorsville where she spent more than half of her years.

For nearly two decades Marian worked in the administration office of Salt Lake Community College in Taylorsville.

Marian performed faithfully in the many callings of leadership and service she received in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She supported Richard in his numerous church responsibilities and worked at his side for three years in countries across Africa as he filled his role as Africa Area president.

Through her kindness and love Marian developed deep relationships with people all over the world. She and Richard routinely and graciously opened their home to friends, family and visitors from five continents. Everyone was welcome for dinner or for watermelon and chocolate cake on the patio.

Marian is survived by children Bruce (Shari), Gordon (Kathleen), Susan Gong (Gerrit), Sharon Lyons (Doug), John (Ann), and Mimi Warnick (Paul), 26 grandchildren, 60 great-grandchildren and sister Naomi Christofferson (Leonard).
